Description
LL-37 10mg is a 10mg vial of LL-37, a human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide, supplied by Ameano Peptides as freeze-dried powder. It’s intended for lab research only.
About LL-37
LL-37 is the only cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide humans make. It’s 37 amino acids long and starts with two leucines, which is where the name comes from. It’s cut from a larger precursor protein, hCAP-18, and is found in white blood cells, skin and the lining of the airways and gut.
It’s amphipathic, with one charged face and one oily face, so it can sit in and disrupt bacterial membranes.
How LL-37 works
LL-37 has a positively charged face that’s drawn to the negatively charged membranes of bacteria. Once it’s there, its oily face pushes into the membrane and makes holes.
It does more than kill microbes. It binds bacterial endotoxin, recruits immune cells and stimulates new blood vessel growth, which ties it into wound healing studies.

Published LL-37 studies
Lab work shows it kills a wide range of bacteria and some fungi and viruses in culture, and it also acts as a signaling molecule in inflammation and wound repair. Heilborn and colleagues reported in 2003 that it’s needed for normal re-epithelialization of human skin wounds in culture.
Human data are limited to small early-phase studies, for example on venous leg ulcers.

How to reconstitute LL-37 10mg
Concentration is just the amount in the vial divided by the liquid you add. With 10mg in this vial:
- 1mL of diluent gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of diluent gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of diluent gives 3.33mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.
Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water or our research diluent solution. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the liquid slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll it gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
How to store LL-37 10mg
Unopened, keep LL-37 10mg in a fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in a freezer at -20°C if it’ll be a while before you use it. Keep it out of direct light. Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within about four weeks.
LL-37 purity and COA
LL-37 10mg is sold at 99% purity or better, measured by HPLC. That figure is the minimum for every batch we ship, not a best case.
The label on every vial shows the compound, the amount and the batch. Ask us for the certificate of analysis for your batch and we’ll email it over, which is handy if your lab keeps paperwork on file.
If a result in your own work looks off, check the batch number first, then the reconstitution math. Most problems with LL-37 come from storage or mixing, not the powder.
Setting up for LL-37 10mg
You’ll need a diluent to mix LL-37 10mg. Our 10mL research diluent covers several vials, and the 2mL diluent kit gives you a fresh vial for each mix. Add sterile syringes and alcohol swabs, and the 10-slot vial case if you want your vials stored upright in the fridge.
