Description

Our Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg vial holds 5mg of lyophilized Thymosin Alpha 1, a thymic peptide. It’s intended for lab research only.

What is Thymosin Alpha 1?

Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide first isolated from thymus tissue. It acts on T-cell maturation and innate immune signaling.

A synthetic form, thymalfasin (Zadaxin), is approved in some countries outside the US for hepatitis B and C.

How Thymosin Alpha 1 acts in the lab

Thymosin alpha-1 acts on toll-like receptors, especially TLR2 and TLR9, on dendritic cells and other immune cells. That activates downstream signaling that helps T cells mature and shapes the response toward Th1 immunity.

It’s studied as an adjuvant alongside vaccines and in chronic viral infection models, where the goal is a stronger T-cell response without broad overstimulation.

What the research says about Thymosin Alpha 1

Clinical work on thymalfasin covers chronic hepatitis B and as an immune adjuvant, reviewed by Goldstein and colleagues.

Lab studies describe its action through toll-like receptors on dendritic cells.

Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg purity and testing

The purity spec for Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg is 99% or higher by HPLC, and that’s the floor for each batch.

Each vial is labeled with the compound, the amount and a batch number. The certificate of analysis is filed under that batch number, so if you need the COA for your records, email us the number on your label and we’ll send it.

If a result in your own work looks off, check the batch number first, then the reconstitution math. Most problems with Thymosin Alpha 1 come from storage or mixing, not the powder.

How to reconstitute Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg

Concentration is just the amount in the vial divided by the liquid you add. With 5mg in this vial:

  • 1mL of diluent gives 5mg/mL
  • 2mL of diluent gives 2.5mg/mL
  • 3mL of diluent gives 1.67mg/mL

Pick the volume that keeps your own calculations simple, then write the concentration and the mixing date on the label.

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water or our research diluent solution. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the liquid slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll it gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.

Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg storage and shelf life

The dry powder keeps best cold: 2 to 8°C in the fridge, or -20°C for long-term storage. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.

What you need with Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg

You’ll need a diluent to mix Thymosin Alpha 1 5mg. Our 10mL research diluent covers several vials, and the 2mL diluent kit gives you a fresh vial for each mix. Add sterile syringes and alcohol swabs, and the 10-slot vial case if you want your vials stored upright in the fridge.
