Description
KPV 10mg from Ameano Peptides is 10mg of KPV in a sealed glass vial. KPV is an alpha-MSH derived tripeptide. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is KPV?
KPV is the tripeptide lysine-proline-valine, the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone. It keeps alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity without the pigment effects.
It’s small enough to be taken up by gut cells through the PepT1 transporter, which is why it’s studied in models of gut inflammation.
How KPV works
Alpha-MSH calms inflammation through melanocortin receptors. KPV is its last three amino acids and keeps much of that anti-inflammatory activity.
Inside cells it lowers NF-kappaB signaling, the switch for many inflammatory genes. Gut cells take it up through the PepT1 transporter, which is why colitis models are where most of the work is.

Published KPV studies
Dalmasso and colleagues reported in Gastroenterology (2008) that KPV reduced inflammation in mouse colitis models and was taken up through PepT1.
Laroui and colleagues later packaged KPV in nanoparticles and saw similar effects in mice.

KPV 10mg reconstitution and concentration
The volume of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 10mg:
- 1mL of diluent gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of diluent gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of diluent gives 3.33mg/mL
Choose the volume that suits your measurements. Mark the vial with the concentration and date so nobody has to guess later.
Use a sterile diluent such as our research diluent solution. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature first so no condensation gets in, add the liquid slowly along the glass wall, and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake.
KPV 10mg storage and shelf life
Unopened, keep KPV 10mg in a fridge at 2 to 8°C, or in a freezer at -20°C if it’ll be a while before you use it. Keep it out of direct light. Once mixed, keep it refrigerated and use it within about four weeks.
KPV 10mg quality and batch records
Every batch of KPV 10mg is made to a minimum of 99% purity by HPLC.
Each vial is labeled with the compound, the amount and a batch number. The certificate of analysis is filed under that batch number, so if you need the COA for your records, email us the number on your label and we’ll send it.
If a result in your own work looks off, check the batch number first, then the reconstitution math. Most problems with KPV come from storage or mixing, not the powder.
Setting up for KPV 10mg
Check you have everything before the vial arrives: a sterile diluent such as our research diluent solution, sterile syringes, alcohol swabs and room in the fridge. Our vial case holds ten vials upright, and the vial opener pops flip-off caps cleanly.
Buy KPV 10mg in bulk
KPV 10mg comes in more than one quantity. Pick the option from the dropdown above the cart button:
- Single vial: $44.00
- 5 pack: 5 vials for $198.00 instead of $220.00, about $39.60 a vial
- 10 pack: 10 vials for $374.00 instead of $440.00, about $37.40 a vial
The packs are the same vials as the single listing, just priced lower per vial. If you know you’ll go through more than four, the 5 pack already costs less than buying them one by one.

KPV 10mg questions
How much is in the KPV 10mg vial?
10mg of lyophilized powder. The amount is printed on the label.
Is there a discount for buying more?
Yes. The 5 pack saves 10% and the 10 pack saves 15% compared with buying single vials. Pick the option from the dropdown on this page.
What do I mix KPV 10mg with?
A sterile diluent such as our research diluent solution or bacteriostatic water. The reconstitution section above shows the concentration for each volume.
How should I store it?
Sealed vials go in the fridge, or the freezer for long-term storage. Once mixed, refrigerate and use within about 28 days.
Can KPV be used in people or animals?
No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
